Vetrarmorgun vann í Berlin






Myndin omanfyri staðfestir, at tað ikki var ein dreymur, at ein altjóða dómsnevnd, mannað av Laura Astorga Carrera, Jan Soldat and N. Bird Runningwater (tey eru filmsleikstjórar, síðstnevndi er frá Sundancefestivalinum) helt, at føroyski filmurin hjá Sakarisi Stórá var so mikið góður, at  hann skuldi heiðrast. Vetrarmorgun var ein av fýra filmum, sum varð heiðraður í Generation 14plus kategoriini, kategoriirnar síggjast niðanfyri her.

Vetrarmorgun by Sarakis Stórá
On a small isolated island community in the northern Atlantic two girls are standing up to the adversity of being stigmatized. For its honest and bitter portrayal of the bond between these best friends the jury gives the Special Prize for the best short film to Vetrarmorgun by Sakaris Stórá.

International Jury Generation 14plus


Laura Astorga Carrera
Laura Astorga Carrera was born in 1975 in San José, Costa Rica, and grew up in Managua, Havana, Miami and Frankfurt. She has travelled the world, in particular for her film education, studying in Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba and Argentina. Her short filmEllas se aman (2008) premiered at Locarno Film Festival and subsequently screened at numerous international festivals including in Paris, São Paulo, Milan and London. In 2013 her feature debut Princesas Rojas screened in the BerlinaleGeneration section.

Jan Soldat
Even whilst Jan Soldat was still studying at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" (HFF) in Potsdam-Babelsberg, his much-discussed short documentary Geliebt (Be Loved) screened in the 2010 Berlinale Shorts section. In 2012 he was back at the Berlinale with two more short films: CRAZY DENNIS TIGERscreened in Generation 14plus and LAW and ORDER inPanorama. His graduation film The Incomplete (2013) recently won the CinemaXXI Award for Short Film in Rome and is nominated for the Short Film Prize by the German Film Critics Association.
N. Bird Runningwater
As director of the "Native American and Indigenous" programme at the Sundance Institute, N. Bird Runningwater is committed to the development of a global indigenous film community. His support of a new generation of filmmakers is drawing increasing attention to indigenous cinema throughout the world. Projects benefiting from his support include the two Generation films Eagle vs. Shark andBoy by Taika Waititi as well as Andrew Okpeaha MacLean's feature debut On the Ice which won the Crystal Bear and the Best First Feature Award at the 2011 Berlinale. N. Bird Runningwater has been an advisor for the Berlinale “NATIVe - A Journey into Indigenous Cinema” special series since 2013.
